The text you write during tonight's ritual stays on your device and never leaves it. If you subscribe to Pro, your reflect entries and log are synced to our servers so you can access them across devices. We store nothing else.

The text you write during tonight's ritual (the first two steps) is stored only on your device and never transmitted to us. If you use the free tier, all app data stays local — we have no access to any of it. If you subscribe to Pro, your reflect entries and log are synced to our servers to enable cross-device access. We store your email address to manage your licence and subscription status. We do not store the text from tonight's ritual steps under any circumstances.

Tonight's ritual text is stored only on your device — uninstalling the app removes it. If you have a Pro account, your reflect entries, log, and email address are stored on our servers for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and all server-side data, use our data deletion page. We will process your request within 30 days. Cancelling your subscription does not automatically delete your account data — a deletion request is required.

The sunset. app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs of any kind. We have no visibility into how you use the app, how often you open it, or what you write in it. This website (sunsetapp.co.za) uses Vercel Analytics, which collects anonymised, aggregated page view data with no cookies and no personally identifiable information.

The free tier of sunset. requires no account. We collect no names, email addresses, or any identifying information from free users — you are completely anonymous to us. The Pro tier requires an email address to manage your licence and subscription. We use this email only for licence verification and essential transactional communications (receipts, subscription changes). We do not send marketing emails.

If you purchase a Pro subscription or lifetime licence, payment is processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the information necessary to complete your transaction — such as your name, email address, and payment details — subject to Paddle's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Paddle may share your email address with us for the purpose of managing your licence.

sunset. is not directed at children under the age of 13. Free-tier users are anonymous and no data is collected from them. Pro subscriptions require an email address and a valid payment method; children under 13 are not permitted to purchase a subscription. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

If we introduce features that change our data practices, this policy will be updated and the date at the top of this page will reflect that. We will communicate significant changes to Pro subscribers via email before they take effect.
